iPod und Autoradio

Nein!
Selbst mit Windows-Brille und Apfelallergie kommt man am iPod nicht vorbei.

natürlich gibt es Konkurrenz; mit teilweise recht interessanten features, die der iPod nicht zu bieten hat. Allerdings hat keiner sonst FireWire; eher wird man USB 2.0 finden.

boah, der iTrip von Griffin ist ja echt klasse. Den werde ich mir auf jeden Fall auch kaufen.

Allerdings sehe ich da ein Problem auf mich zukommen: "? Power Requirement: None (it's powered by the iPod)".

Das funktioniert offenbar über diese "Nocke" links, die sich in den FireWire Port des iPod einklinkt, um daraus den Strom zu beziehen.

Nur habe ist genau dort bei meinem 20 Giga iPod eine Schutzklappe angebracht. Wohin damit?

Dies habe ich als Frage an Griffin gemailt. Sobald ich Antwort habe, werde ich sie hier posten.

I own the 20 GB iPod model - and there is a FireWire port protection
flap.

Isn't this flap disturbing, when I install the iTrip?
Or is it necessary to bend the flap too much?

Hello Philipp,

Leave the designing to us. The itrip does not get its power from the
firewire port. It gets it from the head phone port. The firewire port is
merely used to help hold it in place. If you have an iPod the you know that
the rubber flap is extremely flexible. It just folds out of the way with no
damage at all. Here is some more info.

-- The iTrip is designed to fit into the headphone port on the iPod. It is
compatible with all current models of the iPod for both the Mac and PC
models. The firewire port is used to help hold the iTrip in place. The itrip
can be rotated around 90 Degrees to allow for access to the firewire port so
that you can charge the iPod with our iPod adapter kit or with the stock
firewire cable at the same time that you are using the iTrip. The power
usage of the iTrip is negligible. It uses less power then the headphones so
it will not effect the battery life to a significant degree. The iTrip is
currently developed for the US market only. The iTrip is capable of
broadcasting over any radio frequency on the FM band in the US from 87.9
to 107.9. It does this by using our software to program all these radio
frequencies as a separate MP3 song. You just select the "song" (station) you
want and then play your music. The iTrip uses the latest state of the art
digital FM transmission technology that allows for a clean signal. The FCC
limits unlicensed FM transmission "field strength" to 250 microvolts at 3
meters. We are there. This will allow for the accurate and stable drift
free tuning.
The iTrip is currently developed for the US market only. These ranges and
specs are for US compliance only and these may not be the same outside the
US due to different radio standards used in other countries. This means that
the iTrip may not be available for shipping outside the US in the first
release of the device. As this product is developed further and pending
international CE certification it will be released for sale to select
countries. We will post on our web site a compatibility list of counties
